As you play in this game, you'll progress by earning experience, bits, or a combination of the two. We're going to talk about how that works on this page.
The base experience that a character starts out with is outlined in the Getting Started page. The maximum experience it is possible for any character to have is:

Additionally, your character gains bits after a session equal to twice the maximum experience gained during that session. In the future, this amount may increase, in which case for ease's sake, we'll say that characters gain bits retroactively too. You can consult the table to see how much money your character has from income.
