Perry has lived her entire life in Trickfoot, only venturing outside its walls in order to gather medicinal plants and herbs to aid her father, the local apothecary, in making various and balms to heal the sick and mend the wounded. She has no mother nor siblings to speak of and never felt comfortable making connections with her peers, so when she wasn't mixing herbs, she would wander the forests and study the local flora and fauna, fascinated by the intricacies of the ecosystem around her.
One day, after coming back home from a routine trip to gather herbs, Perry gave her father what she thought was a harmless species of berry she had discovered. However, she had misidentified the plant, and despite doing everything she could to save her father, he succumbed to the plant's poisonous effects and died.
Months later, she has finally mustered up the courage to venture beyond the walls of Trickfoot Castle, this time armed with her ink, pen, and journal. She aims to learn as much as she can about the world around her and writes every bit of knowledge she gains into her book, vowing to never again make the same mistake.
